Celtics Edge Out Knicks 118 to 116

The two hottest teams faced off on Wednesday night. The Celtics came into the game winning 10 straight games, as the Knicks came in winning their last 8 games. Both teams wanted this game, but only one could win. Despite trailing the entire game the Celtics were able to overcome the Knicks hot shooting to win the game. Paul Pierce showed why he is called "The Truth”, and gave the Knicks crowd upset stomachs when he hit the game winning shot with 0.4 seconds left to go. Pierce was able to scored a a team high 32 points, and 10 rebounds. He was able to get off a tough shot over Amar'e Stoudemire, who was brilliant in his on way. But the Celtics hit timely shots to win this game. Ray Allen hit a huge three point shot to give the Celtics the lead late in the fourth quarter. Kevin Garnett also did his thing, scoring 20 point and grabbing 13 rebounds. He really played excellent defense on Stoudemire. The Celtics were able to hang around and when they saw the opportunity they attacked the Knicks and won the game.

The Knicks cannot hang their heads because they played a great game. If there would have been more time on the clock Amar’e Stoudemire’s shot would have counted. But despite that Amar’e was able to extend his 30 point streak to 9 games, as he poured in 39 points and 10 rebounds. He really means a lot to this Knicks team and despite his great scoring Wednesday night the team was unable to win the game. Raymond Felton did his thing as well, scoring 26 points and dishing out 14 assist. He still showed that he is on a hot streak and despite the 5 turnovers, he had an excellent game. The important thing the Knicks have to take out of this game is that they have to hold the lead. They showed that they could control the pace of the game and not allow the Celtics to blow them out. Rajon Rondo did leave early in the fourth with a turned left ankle, he did return.
