Knicks Win 8th Straight; Stoudemire Scores 30 For the 8th Straight Time

The New York Knicks played Sunday afternoon trying to win their 8th straight game. They had to try to do it against the Denver Nuggets. The Knicks lost the first meeting between these teams 120 to 118. This ended up being a historic day in the Knicks franchise history. First, was the play of Amar'e Stoudemire who only scored 6 points in the first half, but in the second turned on his excellent playing ability and ended up scoring 24 points in the second half. He ended the game scoring 30 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, and dishing out 4 assist. He really played hard despite having his hands full with Nene. He really showed his abilities on both ends of the court, including 3 blocks. He really has given the Knicks some hope this season and has bought the energy back into Madison Square Garden. Raymond Felton was also spectacular in this game scoring 19 points and dishing out 17 assists. He really has gotten the entire team involved and has also been a key part in this winning streak. Wilson Chandler had a nice game as well scoring 27 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. This win was all about the Knicks as a team with all five starting players scoring at least 16 points. This was a huge momentum boost for the Knicks who will play the Celtics, Heat, Thunder, and Bulls in the next week.

The Nuggets had an excellent game out of Nene who showed that he could match Stoudemire point for point. Nene had 26 points and 8 rebounds. He really looked great playing against the Knicks defense and he was able to get Stoudemire in foul trouble. Then there was Carmelo Anthony who played his only game at Madison Square Garden this season who scored a game high 31 points and 13 rebounds. He really looked great one-on-one against the Knicks defense and took advantage of all of his opportunities. The Nuggets had excellent production out of their bench with Ty Lawson scoring 18 points and Al Harrington scoring 19 points. Both kept their team in the game and at one moment in the game, gave their team the lead. All and all this was a very exciting game to watch. The Knicks were able to show how much they wanted the game and how much they wanted to win. The importance of this win will be showed later in the week, but for right now the Knicks remain one of the hottest teams in the league. They will face off against another hot team who have won 10 straight games in the Boston Celtics. This is going to be a great game to watch because it is going to be a division rivalry at its’ best.

Amar'e and Anthony
