Stoudemire Scores 36 as the Knicks Beat the Wizards 101 to 95

The  New York Knicks came into Friday night on a six game winning streak and a seven game road winning streak. They took on the Washington Wizards in Washington D.C. The Wizards were happy to have point guard John Wall back in the lineup after missing some games with a sore left foot. The Knicks came out very sluggish, but late in the second quarter they came back from 12 to trail by 5 at halftime. In the second half the Knicks took over and showed why they are this hot. They were led by Amar’e Stoudemire who scored 36 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and had 11 turnovers. He really had a nice game and dominated the inside game. This was his seventh straight game with at least 30 points, tying a Knicks franchise record. He really has it going right now and on the road heard “M-V-P!”. This is an amazing run for him and the Knicks as they continue to climb the NBA ranks. Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari both gave the Knicks 16 points. The Knicks have played as a team and showed that they can play defense. It is very important that they have success on both ends in order to be a playoff team.
The Wizards had a nice performance out of Gilbert Arenas who scored 20 points and dished out 6 assist. He really kept the Wizards in the game with his nice scoring. His teammate and rookie John Wall struggled all night scoring just 8 points and had 6 assist. Wall showed rust and struggled to hit his shots. The Wizards are really struggling on both ends of the court right now and it seems as if the injuries are really hurting the team. The Knicks will play Carmelo Anthony and the Denver Nuggets on Sunday, hoping to extend their winning streak.

Amar'e and Chandler
