Hawks hold off Knicks; Win 111 to 102

The New York Knicks faced the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night. The Knicks were with out forward Wilson Chandler who missed the game due to a left calf injury. He is day to day with the injury and may play Sunday against the Detroit Pistons. The Hawks came out and were hitting shots from all over the place. They would open up a 24 point lead in the 2nd quarter. The Knicks were able to comeback and come within 4 points before the Hawks hit more shots and had excellent defensive stops. Late in the game Knicks forward Shawne Williams and Hawks forward Marvin Williams got into a fight that resulted both being ejected. Both players will more than likely be suspended for their actions during the game. The Hawks held on and won a hard fought game to pull out the victory over the Knicks. Joe Johnson played a brilliant game scoring a game high 34 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and dished out 7 assist. He is really starting to get hot for the first time this season after having a few injuries, He is a very talented player who can score the ball from anywhere on the court. His abilities from beyond the three point line is very great. Josh Smith had a great game as well, scoring 24 points, and grabbing 9 rebounds. He is a very expressional player who can play some great defense and score the ball. He is a great person to energize the team with exceptional dunks and blocks. Al Horford scored 19 points with 14 rebounds.

The Knicks were led by Raymond Felton who has been struggling lately, but he broke out Friday night with an amazing performance. Felton scored 21 points and had 13 assists. He has to play at a high level in order for the Knicks to have a chance to win. His teammate Amar'e Stoudemire scored a team high 27 points in the lost to the Hawks. He had a good game offensively, but the Hawks were able to get him in foul trouble to limit his production. The Knicks were able to comeback, but they weren’t able to pull out the victory. The Knicks will play the Detroit Pistons on Sunday at Madison Square Garden.
