Mozgov scores 24 Points as Knicks beat Pistons 124 to 106

The New York Knicks faced a Detroit Pistons team that was without Rodney Stuckey, Ben Wallace, and Richard Hamilton. The headlining story of the night was Timofey Mozgov return to the Knicks lineup. He posted a career-high 23 points and 14 rebounds. He was able to play due to the injury of Wilson Chandler and the suspension of Shawne Williams. Amar’e Stoudemire scored a team high 33 points and 6 rebounds. The Knicks starting All-Star is having his best season of his career and is proving more and more why he is an All-Star. The play of Danilo Gallinari was notice as he scored 29 points and 5 rebounds. He hit some key three point shots late in the game to seal the victory. The Knicks are looking more comfortable out there and are improving on the defensive end.

The Pistons actually led the entire game and were led by guard Ben Gordon who scored a game high 35 points. He was hitting from all angles on the court and making some tough shots. He is a very key component to the Pistons success and why they have been winning these last weeks. Greg Monroe scored 15 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. The Pistons were doing well until the fourth quarter, when they hit a cold streak and couldn’t score. The Knicks played great defense late in the game and showed that they could handle a under .500 team.
