Amar’e scores 41 points in a Knicks win over the 76ers; 117 to 103

The New York Knicks took on the Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden on Sunday afternoon. The Knicks were without Ronny Turiaf who sprained his ankle in Friday’s lost to the 76ers. He is day-to-to with his injury. This was an exciting game that included a bunch of excitement from the Knicks. Amar'e Stoudemire played hard and was on a mission to beat the 76ers. Stoudemire tied a season-high with 41 points and 7 rebounds. He also included 4 blocks and played one of his best defensive games of the season. Then there was Landry Fields who scored a career-high 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He is really playing at a high level in his first year in the NBA. He has impacted the Knicks in so many ways this season and is a real reason why they have been successful. Raymond Felton scored 13 points and dished out 13 assists. The Knicks played as a team and no one player won the game for the Knicks; it took a team effort.

The 76ers had a great game out of Elton Brand who scored 28 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He has had a great two games against the Knicks these past days. It is important for the Sixers to have a great game out of him because they could be a surprise team to get into the playoffs. The Sixers were able to come back after trailing by 15 points, but were never able to capture the lead. Louis Williams scored 19 points and dished out 4 assist off the bench for the 76ers. The Knicks have a tough road ahead before the All-Star break, but right now they have to stay afloat and not lose that spot in the playoff race. Sunday afternoon was a step in the right direction and hopefully the Knicks have gained some momentum.
