Jared Jeffries back to NY?

The Houston Rockets bought out forward Jared Jeffries on Friday. He was traded to the Rockets on February 18th 2010 after spending  3 seasons with the Knicks. He is interested in signing back with the Knicks once he clears waivers on Tuesday. In Houston Jeffries really didn’t play. Jeffries isn’t a gifted offensive player, but he can play some hard defense. He played excellent defense with the Knicks before he was traded to Houston. Once he left the Knicks defense was terrible and they looked lost on that end of the court. Jeffries who is 6’11 can really help with the Knicks size issues. If he returns to the Knicks he will really help down the stretch for this team.

The important thing to remember is that Jeffries is not a scorer and his numbers do not reflect his contributions to the team. He drew countless charges for the Knicks and if that was a kept stat he would have led the NBA in drawn charges. The Knicks will look to get Jeffries once he clears waivers and more than likely he will return to the Knicks.
