Chris Broussard of ESPN reported late last night that the Knicks have proposed a deal that would send Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks. Denver would receive Wilson Chandler, Corey Brewer, and a first round draft pick (from the Minnesota Timberwolves). The Timberwolves would receive Eddy Curry and Anthony Randolph. This is just the first stages of negotiations between the teams and a deal may be done as early as next week. The Knicks will only lose Chandler at this point who has been struggling to find his game since his injury. He is a young a good player who has the potential to be a great force in the league. Since his struggles the Knicks have found it hard to win and score the ball. Chandler has been a great player for the Knicks since he came into the league in 2007. The Knicks would love to keep him, but when you have the potential to gain a superstar, you have to go out and get him. For the other players that are being traded it looks as if all the teams involved are going to gain something. Eddy Curry came back last season only to get injured again. He hasn’t played in a game this season for the Knicks. He still has the potential to be a great big man in the league it is up to him to make that happen. Anthony Randolph really didn’t get his opportunities to play for the Knicks and at this point going to a new team may serve him better. Randolph is a great young player, but hasn’t been able to get playing time in a tight rotation. Many people have compared Randolph to a Lamar Odom. He would be a great addition to the Timberwolves and would give them more size. Corey Brewer is another young player who could possibly be a great role player in the NBA. Brewer is averaging 8.8 points this season in his third NBA season.
Once a deal is finalized you can find more information right here at Caardel’s Blog. And for everything in sports you can bet Caardel’s Blog will be talking about it.
