Celtics beat Knicks 96-86

The Knicks are in a tough scenario right now because they have lost confidence in themselves and the team. They aren’t playing great defense and are struggling to sustain energy the entire game. On Monday night they played the Boston Celtics at Madison Square Garden  The Knicks were in control most of the game, but they couldn’t hold on to the lead. The Knicks were lost in the 4th quarter and defensively were just  terrible. The Celtics played hard in the 4th quarter and took it to the Knicks. Paul Pierce had a good game as he scored 21 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He hit some tough shots over the Knicks defense. The Celtics showed why they are one of the NBA’s elite teams because they were able to hit big shots. Kevin Garnett scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. He played hard and gave them the toughness to beat the Knicks. The Celtics are trying to gain some momentum heading into the playoffs as they have struggled after the departure of Kendrick Perkins. Ray Allen scored 15 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. He left in the game after getting hit in the head by an elbow which resulted in a cut over his right eye.

The Knicks were hot all game long, but a terrible 4th quarter sent them to the losing end. Carmelo Anthony was hot during the game, but in the 4th quarter he missed his last 7 shots which really hurt the Knicks chances. He scored 22 points to lead the Knicks as a team. He did leave in the 4th quarter after getting a cut next to his left eye. Anthony played great, but he did get into early foul trouble early which limited his production on both ends of the floor. Amar'e Stoudemire only scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. He struggled late in the game and really didn’t help the team late in the game. The Knicks will play the Orlando Magic on Wednesday and it will be a tough task to beat them.
