Douglas hits 9 threes in a 120-99 Knick win over the Grizzles

The New York Knicks took on the Memphis Grizzles at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks came into the night on a three game losing streak. Over that stretch the Knicks played some terrible defense and lost a heartbreaking lost to the Indiana Pacers on a Danny Granger game-winning jump shot. This game marks the first game of four in five nights. Tonight was a very special night for the Knicks organization who saw their team hit a franchise record 20 three point field goals. The Knicks were led by guard Toney Douglas who stole the show with his amazing performance. He hit 9 threes to lead the team to the win. He scored a total of 29 points and put himself in the Knicks record books by tying the record of 9 three pointers in one game by a Knick. Carmelo Anthony was hot as well as he scored 28 points. He played really well and for the second time as a Knick he was hot from the field. He played within himself and put the Knicks in a great position to get the win. Amar'e Stoudemire scored 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He played in a limited role due to his foul troubles. Chauncey Billups added 18 points and 8 assists.

The Grizzles were in the game until the Knicks began hitting threes from all over the floor. Mike Conley was the leading scorer with just 16 points. He went hard against the Knicks defense and made it to the hoop with ease. Conley also got his teammates involved as he had 6 assists. Zach Randolph scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He started off well, but then cooled off along with his team. The Grizzles were swept by the Knicks this season as the Knicks went 2-0 against them. Darrell Arthur scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds off the bench for the Grizzles. He is a nice young player who has the potential to be a nice back up on any team. He has an excellent nose for scoring the mid-range jumper. The Knicks will play the Detroit Pistons tomorrow and there will be a live chat right here at Caardel’s Blog.
