Knicks can’t win; Lose 102-96

The Knicks are really in a slump right now and from the looks of things they are just falling out of the playoff race. The Knicks came into the night on a five game losing streak. The Bucks didn’t have Michael Redd in the lineup who was supposed to get playing time, but he opted to just play tomorrow night. The Knicks came out with no energy and missed countless shots that they should have made. The Knicks were cold and put up just 24 points to end the first quarter. But the Knicks would make a run to pull within five, but the Bucks kept hitting shots to keep them afloat. The Bucks were excited about Brandon Jennings who scored a season-high 37 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and dished out 3 assists. He was very impressive late in the game as he came up big for his team. He was spectacular during the first half as he scored 23 points going into the half. He is a very nice piece to have a team because he can break down a defense with his penetration. Andrew Bogut had a monster game as he scored 21 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. Bogut also blocked 4 shots and was a force down low for the Bucks. When he is healthy he can really dominate the paint and play outstanding defense. One thing people overlook is that Bogut can really pass the ball for a big man. The Bucks played well early and finished the game with great defense and timely hoops. The Bucks are trying to sneak into the playoffs again. They can possibly be a team to watch as the season ends.

The Knicks are continuing to fall, but to their advantage the 76ers and Pacers lost tonight. The Knicks only had three players score in double figures. Amar'e Stoudemire scored 28 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He was very tentative in taking his shots at times. Amar’e seems to be lost or something and is trying to become a one-on-one player. His game is the pick-and-roll. The Knicks need to somehow incorporate that back into the offense. It is sad to watch a team who performed so well play this bad. Somewhere along the way the Knicks lost their winning ways. Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. He shot the ball poorly, but somehow he was able to get 25 points. He really hurt the team late in the game as he took good shots, but couldn’t find the nylon. The Knicks need both these players to somehow get their teammates involved. The Knicks need to get back to moving the ball and less of the one-on-one plays. The Knicks need to dig deep and get together as a team to win. The Knicks will face the Charlotte Bobcats tomorrow in Charlotte, North Carolina.
