Knicks snap losing streak at 6; Beat Magic 113-106

The New York Knicks took on the Orlando Magic at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks came into the night on a 6 game losing streak. On the other hand the Magic came in on a 5 game winning streak. The Magic were without Jameer Nelson who was out with a leg injury. The Knicks came out with energy and fought the entire game. Carmelo Anthony would have a night to remember as he scored a 39 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was on fire late in the game and was the force that drove the Knicks to the win. He played great defense on anyone he guarded. He played with intensity which gave the Knicks hope for the future. Carmelo said it was a must win situation and he back it up with an amazing performance. Amar'e Stoudemire played hard on both ends of the floor as he scored just 20 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He only took two shots in the second half, but made up for his absence on the defensive end. The Knicks played a great all-around game and are happy to finally get the win. The game went into overtime and saw Dwight Howard, Hedo Turkoglu, and Earl Clark all foul out. Howard also picked up his 17th technical foul of the season.

The Magic hit huge shots late in the game to force the Knicks to answer. Dwight Howard played a big game for them as he scored 29 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. He was a dominate force down low for the Magic. The late game follies for him really hurt his team and took their momentum away. Jason Richardson played a nice game as he scored 24 points in a big way. He hit some big shots late in the game to keep his team in the game. His late game trip on Carmelo Anthony really hurt the Magic. The Magic have already clinched a playoff spot so the lost wasn’t a bad thing. The Knicks fought the entire game and showed that they weren’t going to quit. The Knicks will face the New Jersey Nets at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.
