Magic beat Knicks 116-110

The New York Knicks went to Orlando to face the Magic. This was an intense game for both teams. The Magic came out with energy to take an 11 point lead at the end of the first. The Knicks would answer in the 2nd quarter as they would take the lead and open up a 11 point lead to go into the half. The Knicks would lead until the 4th quarter when the Magic and Jameer Nelson would erupt to take an 8 point lead. Nelson scored 26 points and dished out 4 assist in his teams win. He was lights out in the fourth quarter and played his heart out. Dwight Howard also had a huge game with his 30 points and 16 rebounds. He is really playing great right now and is in the running for the MVP award. His play has kept the Magic from slipping from their 4th place position. He is a real hard person to guard because he has the ability to either get through you or spin and finish with either hand. He also has become a more consistent free throw shooter and is a reason why he is a better player this season. Ryan Anderson also had a great game off the bench scoring 16 points and grabbing 5 rebounds. He has become a consistent role player for the Magic and is a reason why they are still winning. The Magic are a tough team especially if they are making shots. They have excellent defensive abilities and are quick at stopping the ball.

For the Knicks they had an excellent game out of their three prime players. Amar'e Stoudemire scored 30 points as he kept the Knicks in the game and in control. He only grabbed 2 rebounds which is terrible from a prime player who played 38 minutes. He has to get more rebounds if the Knicks are going to take that next step. Chauncey Billups left the game with a left thigh injury after being hit trying to go over a screen set by Dwight Howard. He did his job though as he scored 30 points, dished out 6 assist, and grabbed 6 rebounds. He played real hard for the Knicks even though they fell short. He is a real great player who has been consistent since he joined the team. It is unknown right now if Billups will play tomorrow. Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. He was guarded great by Quentin Richardson late in the 4th quarter, which limited his production. The Knicks will play the New Orleans Hornets at Madison Square Garden tomorrow.
