The New York Knicks came into the night on a three game winning streak. They faced off against the lowly Toronto Raptors. The Knicks came out and went on a quick 13-0 run to force the Raptors to take a timeout. The Knicks would go up by 29 points in the game and never looked back. The Raptors did cut the lead to 10 points, but the Knicks did hold off any late runs by the Raptors. The Knicks were led by Toney Douglas who scored 28 points and dished out 5 assists off the bench for the Knicks. He was spectacular from behind the arc as he hit six threes and looked great on the defensive end as well. He has to play hard in order for the Knicks to win. If he can become more consistent he will be a great player. Carmelo Anthony had a great game as well he scored 23 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists. He hit shots from all over the floor and gave the Knicks hope going into the playoffs. He has been great for the Knicks since he came over in the trade. Amar'e Stoudemire played refreshed and renewed as he scored 23 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He played great on both ends of the floor and looked like the Amar’e from earlier this season. The Knicks won in a wire-to-wire victory and also scored 72 points in the first half. They showed that their offense is back on track.
The Raptors had an amazing game out of Demar DeRozan who scored 36 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He drove the ball and hit some tough shots over the Knicks defense. He wasn’t going to let his team lose the game, but his teammates weren’t helping him out. Jerryd Bayless scored 19 points and dished out 5 assists, but fouled out in the 4th quarter. He played well as he drove the ball into the Knick defenders and drew fouls. He is a nice guard to have because he can score and pass. He also knows how to run and offense. The Raptors lost Andrea Bargnani in the second half as he continues to struggle with his ankle injury.
The Knicks will play the Philadelphia 76ers tomorrow in a battle for the 6th spot in the Eastern Conference. The Sixers did lose tonight and with the win the Knicks are now tied in the lost column with them. The Knicks are currently 1.5 games back of the Sixers.
