Mets lose to Rockies 7-6

The New York Mets took on the Colorado Rockies at Citi Field to start a four game series. The Mets sent Mike Pelfrey to the mound to face off against Jason Hammel. The Mets had a nice start from Mike Pelfrey who went 5.1 innings, gave up six hits, and allowed 4 runs. He pitched a better game tonight and showed more control then his previous starts. He showed that he can be dependable at home against a hard hitting team.

Jason Hammel went 6.0 innings, allowed six hits, and gave up 4 runs. He did a nice job in getting the Met hitters out and didn’t allow the Mets to run away with the game.

The Mets will continue their series tomorrow at 7:00 PM at Citi Field.

Game Notes:

  • Troy Tulowitzki went 2-4 with 3 RBI’s including a base-on-balls. He hit the ball great as he would hit his 4th homerun of the season.
  • Jose Reyes went 2-5 including two triples and a run scored. He was very effective in getting on base for the Mets, but they couldn’t convert on their opportunities.
  • David Wright hit his second homerun of the season including two hits and two RBI’s.
  • The Mets went 3-10 with runners in scoring position.
  • Bobby Parnell went an inning and allowed 3 hits and 3 runs. He gave up a two-run homerun to Troy Tulowitzki in the 8th inning.Troy Tulowitzki
