Breaking News; Andrew Bynum suspended

Lakers forward Andrew Bynum was fined $25,000 and suspended five games for his hit on Mavericks guard J.J. Barea. Bynum apologized earlier today saying,

"…I want to actually apologize to J.J. Barea for doing that. I'm just glad that he wasn't seriously injured in the event and all I can say is, I've looked at [the replay], it's terrible and it definitely won't be happening again."

Since the Lakers are out of the playoffs Bynum will miss the first five regular season games next season. Bynum acted in a very unsportsmanlike manner and his actions were not a representation of the Lakers franchise, More importantly Bynum could be traded next season along with other Laker players due to their terrible performances this post season.

This is a similar issue Bynum has faced this season. He was suspended two game due to his foul on Minnesota Timberwovles Michael Beasley in March.

The photo below captured the hard foul Bynum committed. Barea would land on his left side and be down for some time.
