The New York Mets have agreed to sell 49% of the team to David Einhorn. The deal is reportedly about $200 million. The deal doesn’t include the television network SNY. Einhorn founded a hedge fund called Greenlight Capitol in 1996.
This deal will not give Einhorn controlling interest right now. Down the road he may become the majority owner if the Wilpons decide to leave the team.
