Knicks plan to sign Samuel Dalembert

The New York Knicks have a major hole in their starting rotation and that is a starting center. Over the course of the season the Knicks used Timofey Mozgov, Ronny Turiaf, Amar’e Stoudemire, Jared Jeffries, and Sheldon Williams at the center position. Now the Knicks have to plan for next season and it seems that they will be looking for a new center. Centers on the market will be Samuel Dalembert, Tyson Chandler, Marc Gasol, and DeAndre Jordan. Samuel Dalembert will most likely be the only one to leave his team.

Dalembert is a guy the Knicks could use because he plays great defense and can find a shot if you give it to him. He is averaging for his career 8.1 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game. The Knicks needed something more out of the center spot and weren’t getting that consistent scoring from that position.

Dalembert has played in the NBA for eight seasons now. The 76ers traded him after he was there for seven years, Dalembert will be a low cost free agent and is the reason why the Knicks are targeting him. He is the only Haitian born player in the NBA . New York has many Haitian citizens that would love to see one of their own play in front of them.

Lastly, the Knicks have a long off-season to find players to build a contending team. It is very important that they get free agents that want to win. Dalembert is on a short list of players that will possibly be Knicks come next season. Hopefully, the Knicks can go much further in the playoffs come next season and win an NBA Championship.
