The New York Mets faced the Chicago Cubs tonight trying to tie up the series at one a piece. The Mets played their worst game of the season yesterday and tried to put that behind them tonight.
Dillon Gee started for the Mets and allowed the Cubs to jump out to a 4-1 lead. But his teammates and some terrible pitching from the Cubs Gee was able to get the lead. Gee went six innings allowing four runs on four hits. He pitched excellent after giving up the four early runs. He now has a record of 4-0 and continues to improve in every start.
Casey Coleman started for the Cubs and was given a three run lead, but couldn’t hold on to it. He would only go 1.1 innings allowing six runs on seven hits. Coleman wasn’t the only Cub pitcher to struggle. Justin Berg came in to replace Coleman would walked three batters to force in two runs. He threw 12 straight balls without throwing a strike. He looked terrible out their as he couldn’t get anything over for the strike. The game was ended during the 7th inning due to the rain. The Mets won with a 7 to 4 score and a complete game from Dillon Gee.
