The New York Mets will welcome in Andre Ethier and the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight. The Mets will bring Jon Niese to the mound to face Hiroki Kuroda. Niese will try to stop the hot hitting Andre Ethier who has a 29-game hitting streak. Niese has a 1-4 season record with an ERA of 4.71 in six games. He has pitched good, but the team cannot get him any run support. His only win came against the Arizona Diamondbacks where he went 7.0 innings allowed just two runs. If he can generate any of that success he could have a dominating pitching performance.
Hiroki Kuroda is 3-2 with a 3.10 ERA and has allowed 41 hits over his 40.2 innings of work. His last start was against the San Diego Padres and he struck out seven batters in 7.0 innings of work.
