The New York Mets will play the Philadelphia Phillies tonight at Citi Field. The Mets will try to bounce back from a terrible bullpen performance in which Francisco Rodriguez gave up three runs. Mike Pelfrey will face Cole Hamels tonight.
Hamels has struggled against the Mets in his career. He lost his first game against them when he went 2.2 innings allowing a season-high six runs. He has a record of 2-9 with a 4.35 ERA in 14 career starts against the Mets.
The Mets have to become a better team with runners in scoring position if they want to win. Jason Bay has to get going and get some clutch hits as well. He needs a break out game tonight to help his team win some games.
