Pre-Game: Angels vs. Mets 1:10 PM

The New York Mets will face the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the final game of a three game series. The teams have split the first two games and the winner this afternoon will be the winner of the series. The Mets are coming off a win in which Mike Pelfrey gave them nine strong innings in a complete game effort. He looked in control and dominated the strike zone. He gave the team excellent starting pitching as the first Met to complete a game this season.

Jon Niese will pitch for the Mets as he looks for his third consecutive win. Niese is pitching very well and in his last six starts he hasn’t given up more than two runs in those starts. Niese has dropped his ERA from 5.03 to 3.46. He is pitching at a very high level and that is why the Mets have been so much better as of late.

Tyler Chatwood will get the ball for the Angels as he looks to get out of a two game losing streak. Chatwood had possibly his worst start of the season his last time out. He gave up five runs over 3.2 innings along with three walks. He is trying to capture his fourth win of the season. The Angels are looking for a nice effort from him in order to try to get a series win.
