Pre-Game: Angels vs. Mets 7:10 PM

Tonight the New York Mets will host the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at Citi Field. This will be the second game of a three game series. The Angels took the game last night with the final score of 4-3. They were able to hold off any of the Met late attacks. The Angels were able to get Joel Pinero his 100th career victory.

Mike Pelfrey will start for the Mets as he looks for a win. Pelfrey has been very inconsistent for the team and he needs to get his game going in order for the Mets to keep climbing up the standings. The team needs a great start from him tonight because he has been the starter that has struggled for them. If the Mets get a great effort from him they will likely win.

The Angels will hand Dan Haren the ball to take on the Mets. Haren is trying to get his 7th win of the season and improve his earned run average which continues to climb in every one of his starts. Batters have a .224 average against Haren which is good if he has a winning record. The Mets will have to use their speed to win this game. They will need to steal bases and make it hard for the pitcher to focus.

The Mets will try to get a win and snap a two game losing streak. If they win tonight and tomorrow they will be back at .500 and an excellent opportunity to get over .500 this home stand.
