Pre-Game: Athletics vs. Mets 7:10 PM

The New York Mets will play a three game series against the Oakland Athletics tonight at Citi Field. The Mets are looking to rebound after their series lost to the Los Angeles Angels in which they lost two games out of three. The Mets starters struggled in their two losses and the team struggled to score runs. Tonight the Mets will have to get runs across if they are going to win.

The undefeated Dillon Gee will get the ball for the Mets as he looks to get win number eight. Gee has been arguably the best pitcher for the Mets this season. He has pitched like a veteran and has made adjustments during the game. The Mets won his last start, but Gee was held to four innings because of the rain. He allowed just one hit and didn’t allow any runs. His pitching has been very great this season and when he pitches the Mets expect to win.

Josh Outman will start for the Athletics with his 2-1 record and 3.14 ERA. He is looking to get his second consecutive win. In his last start he threw seven innings allowing four hits and no runs. He pitched his best game of the season in that game. The Mets will need to cluster together hits like they’ve been doing over the last two weeks if they are going to win.

The Mets have struggled to start this home stand and it seems as if they were tired and needed a day off. Well yesterday was their off-day and we will see how they come out tonight.
