Pre-Game: Athletics vs. Mets 7:10 PM

The New York Mets will play their second game of a three game series against the Oakland Athletics tonight at Citi Field. The Mets are coming off a 7-3 lost to the A’s who pitched very well last night. The Mets were unable to get clutch hits which resulted in a tough lost. The Mets need to win these next two games if they plan on having a successful series. They have some tough opponents coming up that can make or break their season.

R.A. Dickey will start for the Mets as he tries to get his team out of a rough spot. The Mets need a great start from Dickey tonight after Dillon Gee’s struggles last night. The bullpen was used for most of the game which will limit Terry Collins strategies tonight. Dickey is looking for his fourth win of the season after a tough start to his season. Dickey struggled in his last start as he allowed four runs on six hits in four innings pitched. He also walked three batters and had a very high pitch count. The Mets are hoping that Dickey can provide great pitching to lead this team to a victory.

Gio Gonzalez will oppose Dickey as he looks to get win number seven. Gonzalez is coming off a win in which he allowed two runs over six innings also striking out ten batters. Gonzalez will be a tough pitcher that the Mets will have to face, but he is hittable. The Mets will have to get on base and use their speed to try to get runs across. If they do that they will win this game.
