Pre-Game: Mets vs. Braves 7:10 PM

The New York Mets will be at Turner Field the next three days taking on the Atlanta Braves. The Mets split their last series with the Pirates and are hoping to have some success against their division rival. The Mets won the last series against the Braves as they went 2-1 in a three game series.

Jon Niese will start for the Mets as he tries to continue his success this season. Niese hasn’t given up more then two runs in his last five games and has gone 3-1 over that stretch. He has been very good this year and is proving his worth to this team. He can only get better as he ages and matures as a pitcher.

Jair Jurrjens will start for the Braves as he tries to capture his 9th win of the season. Jurrjens has an 8-2 record and is pitching very well at this point in his season. He has put himself in the conversation of the top pitchers in the league. He has an ERA of 1.82 and has only allowed more than two runs in one start over his last ten games.

The Mets will have a tough hill to climb tonight, but if they can get great pitching they will be in the perfect position to get the win. The offense has to help the pitching out otherwise the Mets will lose.

Jason Bay isn’t in the lineup for tonight’s game.
