Pre-Game: Mets vs. Rangers 8:05 PM

The New York Mets will continue their games against the American League tonight as they face the Texas Rangers. The Mets are hoping to get David Wright back from his back injury within the next two-three weeks after his doctor gave him permission to resume baseball activities. The Mets are happy to finally hear some excellent news that their star player is coming back soon. But tonight the Mets have to face the homerun hitting Texas Rangers in Arlington, Texas. This is an important road series the Mets have to win in order to keep up in the division race.

Mike Pelfrey will start for the Mets trying to match his last start. Pelfrey had his best game of the season as he threw a complete game one run performance. Pelfrey was outstanding in that game because he was locked in. More importantly he didn’t walk any batters and he struck out five batters. Pelfrey must keep the ball down in the zone in order for the Mets to win. If he raises the ball the Texas hitters will hit homeruns.

Matt Harrison starts for the Rangers tonight  as he looks for win number six. He is a nice young pitcher that the Rangers are getting quality starts from. He does walk a lot of batters, so the Met hitters have to be patient when facing him tonight. Harrison is coming off a no decision in which he allowed one run on three hits. He pitched a great game, but his team couldn’t get him the win.

The Mets tonight will have to play very well if they are going to beat this team tonight, otherwise they will have a longer road trip.
