The New York Mets starting pitcher Johan Santana will start in a rehab game tonight for the St. Lucie Mets. Santana hasn’t pitched this season after his season ended early last year when he had surgery to repair a torn capsule in his pitching shoulder. The Mets are giving Santana a 45 pitch starting point to see how he handles his first game back. If all goes well the Mets may see Santana back mid-August or late August. The Mets just want to see how healthy Santana is and how he will be going into next season.
