The New York Mets will play the St. Louis Cardinals this afternoon at Citi Field. This is the final game of the three game series in which the Mets have won the first two. A win today would give the Mets the sweep and bring them two games over .500.
Jason Bay will sit today as he tries to rest his injured right hamstring and his hip. Jason Pridie will start in Bay’s place in left field.
Terry Collins spoke with reporters last night and stated that Pedro Beato will get the ninth inning. Beato did pitch last night and did a wonderful job in keeping the Cardinals off the board.
