Pre-Game: Mets vs. Dodgers 10:10 PM

The New York Mets will continue their four game series today as they will play the third game against the Dodgers. The Mets have won the first two games and have avoided losing the series. A win tonight will give them control of the series and the ability to sweep the four game series. This Met team has many problems injury wise, but somehow they find a way to win the game. Last night they won the game by hitting three homeruns and for the first time in a while they scored all of their runs with the long ball. The Mets have to be excited with Jason Bay and his continual improvement as the season goes on. Bay is hitting the ball hard and he is finally getting his power back.

Jon Niese will start for the Mets as he looks to rebound from his rough start against the Yankees. He will try to get his eighth win of the season and bring his ERA from 3.72 to a lower average. Niese has been consistent for the Mets this season and provides the Mets with great left-handed pitching. The Mets are counting on Niese to come out and provide excellent innings for them. If Niese can hold the Dodgers off for the first six innings more than likely the Mets offense will give him some support.

Hiroki Kuroda will start for the Dodgers as he tries to continue the success from his last start. Kuroda went seven innings allowing three hits and no runs. He was dominant in getting the Angel hitters out and surprisingly he only struck out four batters. The Dodgers are hoping for a great effort out of Kuroda tonight. One key thing the Mets can do is to just simply get hit after hit. If they accomplish that they will easily win the game.
