Pre-Game: Mets vs. Dodgers 9:10 PM

The New York Mets will play the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight at 9:10 p.m. The Mets are coming off a home stand in which they lost the series 1-2 to the New York Yankees. The Mets were held in check for the series and looked as if their offense has finally gone cold. The Mets still struggle at home this season and they are struggling to get runs there as well. The Mets have to start winning at home if they are going to make the playoffs. And during that home stand the Mets lost R.A. Dickey and Jose Reyes to injury. Both injuries are minor, but the Mets are taking the necessary precautions to make sure these injuries do not linger.

Chris Capuano will get the start for the Mets as he looks to get his third consecutive win. He is pitching good this season and has been someone the Mets could rely on to get the job done. Capuano is coming off a start in which he went five innings allowing five runs on six hits. He struggled, but his team was able to give him plenty of run support to get the win. Capuano will need to keep the ball down in order to keep the ball in the park, if not the Mets will lose this game.

The Mets hitter will face Rubby De La Rosa the rookie pitcher for the Dodgers. De La Rosa has pitched very inconsistent which is prevalent in a young pitcher. He has lost his last three games and has hit a rough spot in his season. The right-handed pitcher came in winning three of five starts. He would get pinned with a lost on June 18th and hasn’t won since. The Mets will have to use their smarts to get passed De La Rosa simply because they never faced him.
