Pre-Game: Mets vs. Marlins 1:10 PM

The New York Mets will be looking to win this series with a win today. The Mets won the first two, but after having the lead last night the pitching couldn’t hold off the Marlins and the Mets lost 8-5. The offense scored runs, but the pitching couldn’t keep the ball club in the game. Also, errors continue to hurt the team and help extend the inning for the opposing team. Now is not the time to get sloppy and slack off. This team has competed well this season despite their record.

Dillon Gee will start tonight looking to capture his 10th win of the season. Gee has struggled lately as teams have started to figure him out. His changeup hasn’t been his best pitch as of late and if he can get that pitch going he will get back to winning. Gee won his last start which was against the St. Louis Cardinals. He went seven innings allowing two runs on three hits. This was his best game in a while as he kept the team in the game and they were able to score four runs to get him the win. If Gee comes out throwing like that tonight he will beat this Marlin team and earn his 10th victory.

Anibal Sanchez will oppose Gee as he looks for his seventh win of the season. Sanchez is coming off a lost to the San Diego Padres in which he went six innings allowing two runs on seven hits. He did record seven strikeouts, but his team failed to score some runs for him. The Mets will have to face a pitcher who gives up a lot of hits, but can strike out batters as well. If the Mets want to win they will have knock out Sanchez early.
