Pre-Game: Mets vs. Nationals 7:05 PM

The New York Mets will play the Washington Nationals tonight at Nationals Park. The Mets are riding a five game winning streak and are looking to continue that tonight against a lesser opponent. The Mets won the series opener last night winning 8-5 in a very Met like game. The Mets hit for no power, but they are always able to string together hit after hit to get runs across. The Mets offense continues to carry this team even when the pitching is terrible. If the Mets can keep the scoring going tonight, they will win this game and get their winning streak up to six games.

R.A. Dickey will start this game for the Mets looking to pitch an outstanding game. Dickey won his last start against the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday. He went 6.2 innings allowing two runs on eight hits. He was very impressive in getting the Cardinal hitters out. He racked up the strikeouts as he was able to strike out seven Cardinals. He will need to give the Mets a great start tonight as he tries to continue his winning ways.

Jason Marquis will start for the Nationals maybe pitching his final game with the Nationals. His team has made it known that he is available to be dealt before the trading deadline. If he wants to end up on a good team he will have to pitch a great game. Marquis is coming off a lost in which he gave up three runs over six innings of work. The Nationals are hoping that he can give them a great effort tonight to get them back on track.
