Mets fall to Braves 4-1

The New York Mets faced the Atlanta Braves tonight at Citi Field. The Mets were trying to snap out of a four game losing streak. The offense has been terrible during that stretch. The Mets were looking to get back in to the race with a series win. The Mets were looking to get to .500 on the season and with a lost they would fall below it.

Tonight the Mets offense was awful and they couldn’t buy a run. They were able to take an early lead with an RBI double from David Wright. That was the only run they were able to get out of the Braves pitching staff.

R.A. Dickey started for the Mets looking to get his pitching back on track. He went seven innings allowing two runs on five hits. He really pitched well despite getting the lost. He was able to keep the Mets in the game with his great pitching. He did all he could, but the offense continued to struggle. He can’t hang his head with this lost; he has to build upon his performance.

Tim Hudson started for the Braves looking to get his team a win. Hudson went seven strong innings allowing one run on three hits. He really locked down the Met hitters and didn’t allow them to beat him. He wasn’t perfect, but he didn’t allow the Mets to get many hits off of him. He really has pitched well this season and continues to prove that he is a great pitcher. The Braves have to be excited from the effort Hudson gave tonight.
