Mets fall to the D-Backs; Lose 6-4

The New York Mets took on the Arizona Diamondbacks looking to snap a three game losing streak. The Mets lost yesterday night with the final score being 4-3. The Mets were unable to plate many runs and struggled with runners on base. They looked to better their effort tonight against the same team.

The Mets were able to tie the game on a Ruben Tejada two-run double in the 2nd inning. Then in the fourth inning the Mets would add two runs on two hits. The first came on a Mike Baxter RBI triple and a RBI single from Mike Pelfrey. The Mets jumped out to a 4- 2 lead, but the Mets pitching staff would allow the D-Backs to comeback. The Mets offense would be stalled for the rest of the game and they were never able to comeback.

The Mets started the outspoken Mike Pelfrey hoping that he could back up his bad mouthing of the team. Pelfrey went four innings allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits,  Pelfrey was forced to leave the game after he was hit on the elbow on a line drive by Gerardo Parra. Pelfrey left with two runners on as D.J. Carrasco came in to replace him. The report on Pelfrey is that he has a contused right elbow and the x-rays were negative.

Carrasco really struggled as he gave up a three-run homerun to Ryan Roberts. In his inning of work Carrasco gave up two runs on a hit and a walk. Later in the game Pedro Beato came in to pitch and he served up a RBI single for the pitcher Daniel Hudson and put the Mets in a 6-4 hole.

Daniel Hudson started for the D-Backs looking to get his 12th win of the season. He would throw eight innings allowing four runs (two earned) on eight hits with four strikeouts and two walks. He really dominated the Mets once he settled in. Hudson really pitched well tonight after watching his team win yesterday. He has shown that he is a great pitcher and will be for a long time. His dominance tonight showed that he is having a great season for his team.
