Pre-Game: Braves vs. Mets 7:10 PM

The New York Mets will play their second game against the Braves tonight at Citi Field. The Mets lost last night giving them five straight losses. They are now a game under .500 and are really struggling offensively. It is hard watching this team at home because they are successful on the road. This team has to figure out how to score runs at home and how to win at home. They are slowly falling out of the playoff races and could be out of the race at the months end.

Tonight Jon Niese will head to the mound for the Mets looking to get his eleventh win. Niese has really helped this team with his excellent pitching. Niese is coming off a no decision against the Washington Nationals in which he only gave up two runs. He really put the Mets in position to get the win and beat a division rival. The Mets have to score some runs tonight and give Niese some support. Niese will only pitch great if his team can get runs and the Mets need to give him that.

Tommy Hanson will oppose Niese as he pitches for the Braves. Hanson is having a great season and is helping his team win games. Hanson is coming off a lost to the Marlins in which he gave up three runs over six innings. He is very consistent for the Braves and provides great starts in every outing he has. The Braves have found a great pitcher who is getting his game going in the right direction. He will try to keep this Met offense down and get his team a win.
