Pre-Game: Braves vs. Mets 7:10 PM

The New York Mets will host the Atlanta Braves tonight at Citi Field. The Mets are coming off a 2-1 series lost to the Philadelphia Phillies. The Mets have lost any chance at making the playoffs this year and now have to start thinking about next season. The Mets have plenty of options offensively, but they need to look more closely at their bullpen and starting rotation. Both areas of pitching have struggled this season, but the bullpen has been very bad. The Mets will have a zero chance at getting to the playoffs with this same bullpen. But tonight they have to focus on their division rivals.

Chris Capuano will get the ball for the Mets as he faces the Atlanta offense. The Mets are looking for a great outing from Capuano who struggled in his last start as he gave up five runs. Capuano has struggled recently as he has given up 38 runs in his last ten starts. He is really struggling and his problem has been giving up homeruns as he has allowed 19 homeruns this season. The Mets need to continue their winning against a tough team.

The Braves will send Tim Hudson to the mound as he looks for his 14th win. Hudson is coming off a win in which he went seven innings allowing just three hits on zero runs. He is pitching very well and over the last ten game Hudson is 7-1 with a 2.29 ERA. He is dominating every team he is facing and is putting his team in the proper position to win the game. The Mets will have another uphill battle against a tough NL pitcher. They have to get contact tonight and drive the ball through the gaps in order to win.
