The New York Mets will play the red hot Milwaukee Brewers tonight at Citi Field. The Mets will try to stop the Brewers, who are 13-3 this month and are looking unstoppable. The Mets have another uphill climb to win this series against a tough team. This series will prove if the Mets have any chance at coming back this season.
Mike Pelfrey will get the start for the Mets looking to improve his record. Pelfrey is coming off a relief appearance in which he allowed a run on two hits. The Mets just wanted to see where Pelfrey’s arm was and see if he needed to be reexamined. He really hasn’t pitched that bad in his last five starts and has a 1-0 record since then. Pelfrey has gone four straight starts with a no decision. The Mets have to somehow score some runs for him and get him a win.
Shaun Marcum heads to the mound for the Brewers looking to pick up a win. Marcum has three straight no decisions for the Brewers. He is pitching very well this season as he pitches with a 10-3 record. He is looking to capture his eleventh win tonight and push his team further up the standings. Marcum is proving that he can be a middle of the rotation pitcher and give his team wins.
The Mets are stuck in a division where everyone wins and they are push further down the standings with every lost. They have to start winning if they want to make a push for the playoffs. It doesn’t look like the Mets can comeback, but they could if they put their mind to it.
