Pre-Game: Marlins vs. Mets 7:05 p.m.

The New York Mets will play their fourth game in three nights against the Marlins tonight. The Mets have won two of the first three games and are looking to get their third win tonight. This Met team has been playing better in all aspects of their game. In order for this team to be competitive next season they will need to figure out who will be great next season. Pitching wise they will need to just get a new bullpen and a few starters. This Mets team has potential, but they are missing key players that would lead them to the playoffs.

Chris Capuano will start for the Mets trying to give the Mets the same performance he gave in his last start. Capuano went nine innings allowing just two hits with 13 strikeouts. He pitched possibly his best game of his career and he dominated for the Mets. He needs to somehow give the Mets the same effort and prove his worth to the Mets front office. The Mets have to be happy with the consistent effort of Capuano and his ability to give the Mets innings. He has fought all season to put the team on his back. Moreover, the Mets need a win tonight as they try to close out their season on a positive note.

Chris Volstad is coming off three consecutive losses and is really struggling to limit runs. Volstad has given up 28 runs in his last seven games. During his three game losing streak Volstad has given up eleven runs. The Mets need to take advantage of his troubles tonight and capitalize on their opportunities.
