Pre-Game: Mets vs. D-Backs 8:10 PM

The New York Mets will play their second game of a three game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight at Chase Field. Losing last night the Mets are trying to snap a three game losing streak. The Mets have struggled for runs and their pitching hasn’t been good either. They have to find a way to win tonight an get back to winning games.

Mike Pelfrey will get the ball today as he looks to get his seventh win of the season. He didn’t pitch that well in his last start as he went 6.1 innings allowing four runs on nine hits. He needs to pitch even better tonight if he wants to win. The Mets need Pelfrey to find some consistency and close out his season well over the next two months. He needs to show this team that he can be a asset next season. Pelfrey beat Arizona earlier in the season as he went seven innings allowing one run on five hits. If he can pull out that same effort tonight the Mets will win this game.

The D-Backs will send Daniel Hudson to the mound as he looks to get his 12th win of the season. He has pitched very well this season and is looking more like a great pitcher. The D-Backs have found their rotation and their team is looking more like a playoff contender. Hudson doesn’t strikeout many batters, but the Mets have to swing the bat and want to win this game. The Mets need to bring their big bats out tonight and get a win. They need to win this series if they want to stay in the race to the playoffs.

Mike Pelfrey
