The New York Mets will play the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight at Chase Field. The Mets are coming off a series split against the San Diego Padres in which they lost the final two games. The Mets defense has struggled since that Padres series and they committed four total errors in that series. They are struggling to turn the double play and are giving the other team more outs per inning. They have to play better on defense if they are going to win.
Dillon Gee will get the start tonight looking to get back on track. In his last start Gee gave up five runs in a no decision against the Atlanta Braves. He has struggled as of late and is giving up a lot of runs. He needs to give the Mets a great start tonight against a tough pitcher. The Mets need to also score many runs against a tough team. Gee has to get command of his pitches and work himself back into a groove.
The Diamondbacks will start their best pitcher tonight in Ian Kennedy. He has converted six straight wins and is looking like a great pitcher. He has a record of 14-3 and is dominating hitters. The Mets will have a tough task tonight going up against a great pitching staff and offense. They will need to hit Kennedy hard tonight if they have any chance at winning.
