The New York Mets will play their third game against the Padres tonight at Citi Field. The Mets have won the first two games and both have been comeback victories. The Padres have struggled to keep the Mets down after they had the lead. The Mets have fought this entire series and have given the home crowd something to cheer about. This team has fought all season long and the last two games sum up their season.
R.A. Dickey will head to the mound and pitch for the Mets. Dickey is coming off back to back losses in which the Mets failed to score runs for him. He hasn’t pitched badly, he isn’t getting any breaks and everything isn’t going his way. In order for the Mets to win this game, they will need to score some runs for Dickey and help him get a much needed win. The Mets have proven that they can score late in the game and tonight they may need to do that again. Dickey is 5-10 with an ERA of 3.72 and this will be his 196th start of his career.
The Padres will send Aaron Harang to the mound to face the Met hitters. Harang gives up a lot of hits and he gave up 13 in his last start against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He did get the win as he allowed four runs to score. The Mets can easily win this game because as of late Harang has been giving up many runs. He has struggled in the second half of the season and is giving up many hits. The Mets need to just swing away tonight and get hit after hit.
