Pre-Game: Mets vs. Braves 7:35 p.m.

The New York Mets will play the Atlanta Braves in a three game series at Turner Field. The Mets are coming off a horrible home stand in which they were swept by the Washington Nationals. The Mets defense was awful and David Wright committed plenty of errors in that series. He is struggling to give the Mets the outs they deserve. Wright has made countless errors and is putting the Mets in the position that winds up hurting them.

Tonight the Mets will try to snap a five game losing streak tonight against the Atlanta Braves. Chris Capuano will start for the Mets looking give the Mets the same effort he gave in his last start. Capuano went seven innings allowing one run on five hits. He really pitched well and put the Mets in a position to win. He has to pitch the same way tonight against a tough division rival. If the Mets can somehow walk away with a series win they can put pressure on the Braves in the Wild Card race.

The Braves will send the struggling Derek Lowe to the mound as he looks to snap a two game losing streak. Over his last two game Lowe has allowed nine runs over eleven innings. He is looking to get his tenth win tonight and keep his team in front by a few games. If the Braves sweep the Mets they will be closer to a play-off berth. If the Mets sweep them then the Braves will possibly be looking at a down to the wire finish to their season. The important thing the Mets have to do in this series is pitch well and play great defense.
