Pre-Game: Mets vs. Marlins 5:10 p.m.

The New York Mets will play their final game against the Marlins tonight. This will also be the final game between the two teams at Sun Life Stadium. The Mets and Marlins currently have a series split and the winner today will win the series. The Mets won last night in the 12th inning on a Nick Evans go ahead RBI single. Evans also had three RBI’s and each one gave the Mets three separate leads. He is playing really well and may have sealed his position on the team for next season.

R.A. Dickey will start for the Mets coming off a win against the Washington Nationals. In that game Dickey was able to go six innings allowing three runs on six hits. He really is pitching well and over his last eight starts Dickey has converted eight straight quality starts. The Mets have to be happy with the grit and toughness of Dickey who hasn’t quit all season long. His pitching has improved this season and he is pitching very well. The Mets need his best effort tonight in order to get a win.

Brad Hand will oppose Dickey looking for his second win of the season. Hand has lost his last two decisions and is really struggling. The Mets will have to get runs off Hand to win this game. Hand gave up three runs over five innings against the Phillies in his last start. He has only gone five innings in his last two starts and is walking an abundance of batters. The Mets have to beat up on Hand tonight as they go for a series win.
