Pre-Game: Mets vs. Marlins 7:10 p.m.

The New York Mets will start a three game series with the Florida Marlins tonight at Sun Life Stadium. The Mets are coming off a series win against the Washington Nationals. The Mets played very well and if Bobby Parnell didn’t have his mishaps the Mets would have swept the Nationals. This team seems to be willing to close out their season winning some games. They have to show the Mets and the fans that they are capable of winning.

Tonight Chris Capuano will start for the Mets looking to get a win. Capuano is coming off a start in which he allowed two runs on seven hits. He struggled, but was able to walk away with a no decision. The Mets need Capuano to throw strikes and limit the homerun. Capuano has pitched very well this season and has shown the Mets that he could pitch for them next season. His work ethic is something to behold as well as his ability to give the Mets innings. If Capuano can limit the Marlins in scoring runs, he will get his team a win.

Javier Vazquez will start for the Marlins trying to do the same thing he did to the Mets last week. Vazquez went seven innings allowing no runs on three hits. He really pitched well for the Marlins and was able to get great defensive help. He is pitching very well this season despite his 8-11 record. The Marlins will need to score runs for him if they want a win. This is the last series that the Mets will play at Sun Life Stadium and the Marlins are looking to get a series win. The Mets will need to stay focused and win the game with their excellent run scoring ability.
