Pre-Game: Mets vs. Nationals 7:05 p.m.

The New York Mets will be playing the Washington Nationals tonight at Nationals Park. The Mets are coming off a 4-1 home stand against the Marlins. The Mets are playing really well now and are looking to finish the season on a high note. The Mets did lose two players yesterday in Josh Thole and Ruben Tejada. This is another blow to a already injury ridden team. Thole is expected to get a further evaluation and return to the team in Washington.

R.A. Dickey will start for the Mets looking to get another win. Dickey is coming off a win in which he went seven innings allowing seven hits. He really gave the Mets a excellent start and deserved to get a win. He needs to bring that same effort into this game if he wants to get a win. Dickey has been the unluckiest pitcher for the Mets this season. Most of his losses are a result of terrible defensive mistakes or lack of run support. The Mets need to give Dickey another great offensive surge tonight.

Ross Detwiler will oppose Dickey looking to get his third win of the season. Detwiler is looking to rebound from his last start where he allowed three runs in a lost to the Cincinnati Reds. He is starting just his seventh game of the season and he is up and down. He is pitching for a Nationals team who are on the move to make a second half run just to close out their season on a better note then their start.
