The New York Mets are set to take on the Washington Nationals tonight at Nationals Park. The Mets won last night 7-3 and gave R.A. Dickey his second consecutive win. The Mets played very well last night in every aspect of their game. They were led by David Wright who clubbed a three-run homer to give the Mets the lead in which they never relinquished. The Mets also had very successful debuts for Josh Stinson and Daniel Ray Herrera. Both pitched scoreless baseball with a combined two innings pitched. They also had a combined three strikeouts in those two innings.
Tonight the Mets will send Dillon Gee to the mound as he looks to get his second win in a row. He really pitched well in his last start as he gave up a run over six innings. He will need to pitch the same way tonight if he wants to get the Mets a win. Gee is starting to look like the Gee from earlier in the season where he was able to command all of his pitches. His success comes from his changeup and if that pitch is working he will be in control for the night.
The Nationals will send Tom Milone to the mound as he makes his Major League debut. He is left-handed pitcher looking to earn his first win. The Nationals are hoping that Milone can bring his best stuff tonight as he faces the Mets.
Ronny Paulino returns to the lineup after missing time with a broken toe.
