Halftime Report: Cowboys 10, Patriots 13

Halftime is currently under way at Gillette Stadium between the Dallas Cowboys and the New England Patriots. The Patriots hold a slim lead in a very close game. The defense for both teams have played well enough to keep the score at a minimum. Both teams have four combined turnovers with each team having two.

The first score came on the first drive of the game with a 31 yard field goal by Stephen Gostkowski. Then the Cowboys would get a field goal to tie the game at the 3:21 mark in the first quarter. That would conclude the first quarter that was filled with turnovers galore. Then in the second quarter the Patriots would get another Gostkowski field goal to take the lead. Both teams were unable to get touchdowns early in the game, but that would change. At the 8:01 mark in the second quarter Tom Brady would find Wes Welker for a 5 yard touchdown pass to put the Patriots up by nine before the extra point. That touchdown was originally ruled out at the one yard line, but the Patriots would challenge and it would be ruled a touchdown. The Patriots would allow the Cowboys to come right back and score a touchdown. Going into halftime the Patriots led by three.

The concerns for the Patriots have to be taking care of the ball and limiting the turnovers.

Wes Welker
