The New York Knicks center Ronny Turiaf is set to join the French team Villeurbanne ASVEL during the current NBA lockout. He will become the sixth NBA-based Frenchman to play in the French league. There was always the possibility that Turiaf would play in France, but a hand injury sidelined him for a month or two.
"I will be on the plane on Wednesday and I hope to take part in my first training session by the end of the week," Turiaf told the club's website.
