The New England Patriots will host the New York Giants this afternoon at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots are coming off a lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in which their defense struggled against an elite team. The Giants are coming off a win against the Miami Dolphins. This game should be a very close and physical game. Both teams are looking to move up in their division standings. This game will come down to which quarterback can have a big game.
The running game for the Giants has taken a hit as Ahmad Bradshaw is out with a broken bone in his foot. They will have to rely on Brandon Jacobs in order to give the Giants a balance attack. The Giants are a very good team and have been a surprise because there weren’t any offseason moves. Eli Manning will be throwing the ball all game and the Patriots defense has to limit him from having a easy day. The Giants are looking forward to throwing the ball and beating the Patriots.
The Patriots will look for Tom Brady and BenJarvus Green-Ellis to run the offense well and lead the team to a win. The offense will have to carry the team again, but hopefully the Patriots defense can force some turnovers that can lead to some scores. This game will be focused on the defense and what they can do a week after they struggled to contain the Steelers offense. This is a big game for the Patriots because the Bills and Jets play each other and a win for the Bills could propel them to being first in the division.
Taylor Price is now on this weeks injury report with a sore hamstring. The Patriots said earlier in the week that they wanted him to get more snaps and now Price has a minor injury.
Focal Points:
- Defense needs to play tough
- Offense needs to get into their rhythm
- Stop Eli!
